Thursday

Today we met Tamara, Brenden, and Nathan at the water park. Tamara rented a cabana and shared it with us. Hannah brought her new USCG approved life vest today and was very excited to wear it. She even went down the middle slide on an inner tube in the toddler pool by herself! We had a great time and it was a wonderful day. We had barely gone across the street on the way home when she fell asleep in the car seat. Brad was home when we got there around 5:30 PM.

Wednesday

We went to the library for story time today. Hannah snuck up on Miss Sue, the librarian/story reader, and ended up getting bonked on the forehead with a book. I think Miss Sue was more upset by it than Hannah was hurt.

We went to lunch at Applebee's because we were already out and had more errands to run. I didn't realize we would be waiting for ages before we got a check from our server and it was already past nap time when we left the restaurant. Hannah ate like a champ. She even ate a little bit of baby spinach from my salad because she wanted some of the egg. She didn't mind it at all because egg is good stuff.

We skipped nap and went to Target to do some of our non-food grocery shopping. Hannah did fairly well and didn't have to sit in the cart. On the way home, I stopped and picked up a couple of milk shakes from a fast food drive-through.

We came home and rested for a little while and watched cartoons. Brad got home around 5:30 PM and we got ready and went to finish our grocery shopping.

Tuesday

We slept in this morning then went to see the Moyles for a play date. It was great to visit and hear about their Oregon vacation. We stayed pretty late into the afternoon.

Hannah slept for about two hours this afternoon. She watched a cartoon then we filled the bird feeder. Since we were outside she asked if she could color on the sidewalk waiting for Brad to get home. He got home close to 6 PM.

Monday

Today, Hannah went with me to see my eye doctor. She did very well waiting and waiting. We went to Jamba Juice after my appointment and picked up a little snack and smoothie. Then, we went home long enough to watch a cartoon and I made a phone call.

Lunch: We met some of my friends and their children at Fuddrucker's at Legends in Sparks for burgers. It was fun and good food. (Thank yous to Susanne, Tamara, Eileen, and Elizabeth!)

We walked around the Legends mall with our friends and window shopped. I did pick up some PJs for Hannah on sale at Carter's but I was good and didn't go crazy in Tommy Hilfiger.

After the mall, we went to Tamara's house and said "hello" to the kitties and picked up a couple of things she was handing down to us. (Thanks again, Tamara and Brenden!)

It was late when we got home, but I let Hannah sleep for about an hour and a half anyway. She watched a cartoon until Brad got home around 5 PM.

Friday

[Written on Saturday because I forgot to blog yesterday about yesterday.]

My friend dropped off her 12 year old, Cyle, in the morning so he could go with us to the Great Basin Adventure at Rancho San Rafael Park. We met another mother, Calista, from the Mommy Connection with her 2 1/2 year old son, Evan. We had a lot of fun. The kids climbed around some dinosaurs in the play ground, they got to pet some goats in the petting zoo, and we all went on the log ride a few times. Hannah closed her eyes but wanted to go again and again. Hannah and Evan got to ride a pony. We also checked out the Discovery Room which had a ton of stuff for the kids to play with. The mine was closed. Calista and Evan went home at lunch time while Cyle, Hannah, and I had a picnic lunch at the park and went back for more adventure. We panned for gold and rode the log ride a couple more times. Cyle said he had fun, and I'm pretty sure Hannah did, too.

We came home and I tried to get Hannah to lay down, but she was too excited that Cyle was still at our house, so I let her get up and hang out with him. Cyle went home around 5 PM, just after Brad got home from work.

Thursday

We overslept. I woke Hannah up at 9 AM. Pink moo, toasty sticks, cartoon. I didn't get ready fast enough and we missed out on story time at the library this morning. Hannah seemed OK with it.

We finally got out the door and went to the park. It was nice in the shade and there were plenty of other children for Hannah to be friendly to. We stayed for about 45 minutes.

Lunch: chicken tenders, mandarin oranges, chocolate milk. I actually took her to Wendy's and she sat like such a big girl and ate like a champ.

After lunch, we went to Meadowood Mall. I took her to Stride Rite and had her feet measured. As I suspected, she's outgrown almost all of the shoes she owns. They were having a fantastic clearance sale and we picked up two pair of sneakers and three pair of socks for the same amount a regularly priced pair of shoes. Then we went to the Disney Store just for fun. I told Hannah we weren't getting anything today. She saw a Bolt toy and was very excited. Then she saw Woody and screamed with delight. Then I saw the sign that said "Buy One Plush Toy, Get Another Free!" So, Bolt and Woody came home with us.

When we got home, Bolt and Woody took a nap with Hannah. She slept for about two hours.

We watched cartoons and then watered plants. Hannah rode her scooter around a little bit on the back patio.

Brad got home close to 6 PM.

Wednesday

Hannah made it all night in her own bed! She woke up around 8:30 AM. Pink moo, toasty sticks, cartoon.

We got ready in record time and Hannah went to Momo and Papa's house to play while I went to an appointment. They said they would let me know when they tired of her, so I went home and relaxed for a bit after I got home. She took a nap with Momo and played with Nate, kicked her soccer ball, played in the paddling pool. She had a lot of fun over there. I went and got her around 4:45 PM.

Hannah went with me to the store for a quick run in for milk.

Brad got home after 5 PM.

Tuesday

No plans for today. We slept in until 9:30 AM. That's what summer and unemployment are for, after all. Sleeping when you want to. Pink moo, toasty sticks, cartoon.

Hannah played out in the paddling pool for a little while then she helped me transplant the tomato into a bigger pot.

Snack: pretzels and Gatorade.

Hannah played with some seashells that I found when I went looking for some pebbles to put in the bottom of the tomato pot.

Lunch: buttery noodles with Parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, and mandarin orange slices.

I read to Hannah before nap and she didn't fight me about going down at all. She slept for about two hours.

Snack: yogurt by request.

Hannah played with an old card Momo had given her for a long time. She also helped me bucket-out the water from the paddling pool into the grass. Cartoons.

Brad got home around 6 PM.

Monday

Hannah woke up around 8 AM. Since no one from the play group was going to the play date today, Hannah and I hung out at home for a bit. Pink moo, toasty sticks, cartoon.

Hannah didn't want to go anywhere or get dressed. I let her decide what to do with herself today since we've been on the go so much lately. She played dress up for a while then played with her trains and other toys for the longest time.

Snack: gold fish crackers and apple juice.

We watched some cartoons and she played some more.

Lunch: peanut butter and jelly, juice, and carrot sticks.

Hannah slept for about two and a half hours for nap. I dozed off for a bit as well. Pink moo, cartoons and cuddles.

Brad got home at 5 PM.

Friday

Brad got today off so he stayed home and did some work in the yard. He also finished painting the bathroom.

Hannah and I went to the movies with Momo and Papa then went to lunch at Scooper's. Hannah had a rough day. She did not sit through the movie and she made a fuss in the middle of it because she wanted to go home. Then she refused to eat her lunch, getting fussy again. She threw a screaming tantrum in the car when I suggested that she didn't need to spend the afternoon at Momo's house and that she needed a nap. When she finally calmed down, she asked for a story before nap and fell asleep before I was done reading it. She slept for about two hours and awoke in much better spirits.

Have a fantastic holiday weekend, everyone!
